Wells Fargo Agriculture Building presented by FoodMaxx

A rib-stickin’ roundup of Valley-grown favorites!
People from all over the world come to the Wells Fargo Agricultural Building presented by FoodMaxx to see all the reasons why Fresno County is the world’s top agricultural area! From apples to zucchini, you’ll find over 500 different varieties of locally-grown crops on display here. Here's a list of the communities who participate each year: Clovis, Coalinga, Easton, Fowler, Kerman, Kingsburg, Laton, Orange Cove, Parlier, Reedley, Sanger and Selma.


                    
 


Fine Arts & Photography Building

Mosey in for an eyeful of local masterpieces!
Check out the Fine Arts & Photography Building, where you’ll find the largest collection of artwork in Fresno County. Here, hundreds of artists and photographers display their paintings, sculptures, photos and illustrations with more than 1,000 items exhibited each year!


 


New in 2010: The Greenhouse

The Floriculture Exhibit has a “purdy” new home that is green in more ways than one!
Fairgoers can still enjoy the sweet-smelling roses, exotic orchids, intricate bonsai plants and a variety of succulents, but just in a new location with more features in the building! The exhibit has moved to its new home, The Greenhouse, which is the building between Gem & Minerals and Kids' Town. The Greenhouse will feature everything you loved about Floriculture Exhibit, but there will be more room for displays and for you to walk through! Plus, there will be more great features in the building like Master Gardener demonstrations and booths with all the gadgets & gizmos you need for your home garden. Gem & Mineral Building

Stake your claim in this dazzling display of local treasures!
Catch the sparkle of breathtaking stones on display in the Gem & Mineral Building. Diamonds, rubies, emeralds and more – learn about them all. You can even purchase custom jewelry made from these special stones -- guaranteed to be one of your best catches of the day!


Home Arts Building presented by Save Mart Supermarkets & California Raisin Marketing Board

Say howdy to homemade crafts and historic classics!
Stop by the Home Arts Building, presented by Save Mart Supermarkets and California Raising Marketing Board and explore the wide variety of arts and crafts projects like homemade quilts, wood carvings, cooking demonstrations, paintings and more!  Plus, be sure to pick up your 2010 Fair Cookbook featuring our exhibitors' award winning recipes for just $7!

        


Commerce & Industry Commerce Buildings

Giddyup and go for these great gadgets & gizmos!
You’re likely to find what you’re looking for among the hundreds of commercial exhibits and concessions in the Commerce and Industry Commerce Buildings and all across the Fairgrounds. A wide variety of vendors will be on hand offering an abundance of products for Fairgoers to browse or purchase. From live demonstrations to back massages, you’ll find it all here.


Junior Exhibits Building

Big-time talent from local young ‘uns!
Who says Fair exhibits are just for grown-ups? Visit the Junior Exhibits Building and look at all the different entries made by kids of all ages, from clothing to cooking, fruits to farm equipment, pictures to posters and more!


Livestock Pavilion

With the finest of the farm, this corral is more than “OK!”
Check out the Livestock Pavilion and see everything from farm animals to cow-milking demonstrations at the "Cow Palace" Milking Barn and more. This building features 12 days of livestock events including beef, dairy, goats, sheep and swine. By participating in these events, 4-H and FFA students not only have the opportunity to showcase and sell their animal projects, they also learn responsibility and gain agribusiness experience. Also, don't miss the Jr. Livestock Auctions on Saturday, October 9th and Saturday, October 16th.


Fur & Feathers Building

See all the bunnies & birds!
Discover the many different breeds of rabbits, birds and more, all under one roof in the Fur & Feathers Building located in the Livestock Pavilion!
 


Kids' Town

Fun for the little folks!
No trip to the Fair is complete without a visit to Kids' Town, where kids can create their own masterpiece to take home at Mary Lee’s Make and Take and enjoy the cute and furry friends at the SPCA booth. New in 2010, enter the enchanted world of wizards and dragons as you explore the magic and wonder of science! Wizard's Challenge, the newest feature to Kids' Town, is an interactive exhibit that lets youth and the young at heart explore the magical world of science. With interactive displays that give a huge variety of magical challenges, this free family-friendly entertainment is sure to provide fun for everyone! Also, kids and parent alike won’t want to miss World Championship Mutton Bustin’ located right outside of Kids' Town! This extreme sport challenges children six and under to ride a sheep for six seconds. If they are successful, they receive a score like a bull rider and each winner has a chance to compete in the Championship round. Don't miss the chance to see these little cowboys in action!


Table Mountain Rancheria Park

A "must see" for Fairgoers!
Gallop into Table Mountain Rancheria Park, where young ‘uns can horse around and parents can enjoy a siesta! You won't want to miss all the great attractions in the Park Area. You can learn about the vital water system here in the Central Valley with The Water Tree, presented by PG&E; experience what a life size pirate ship is all about at Pirates in the Park; explore Fort Fresno; pan for gold at McCaffrey Miner's Town; climb Granville Homes Horse Palace Tree House; go fishing at Catfish Falls complete with its 2-story waterfall; learn all about the dairy industry at Dairyville USA or test out your shot at the Land O'Lakes Butter Barn Laser Shooting Gallery!

Also, new in 2010 is The Big Fresno Fair Farmer's Market, which will showcase the Central Valley's top agricultural commodities such as corn, tomatoes, grapes (table and wine), garlic, lemons, oranges, nectarines, plums, peaches, walnuts, pistachios and almonds. Imagine tomatoes the size of beach balls, ears of corn that are 23 ft. tall and 3 ft. wide and oranges the size of soccer balls!

  

 


Crystal Ag Ventureland

Get hooked on education at this exhibit!
Get roped into Crystal Ag Ventureland, where you can learn how to milk goats and cows, discover where wool comes from, play in corn and bean boxes, make ag crafts and take part in a tractor pull at the Ag Venture Kids' Area. Fairgoers can also enjoy seeing baby animals like sheep, pigs and chicks! New in 2010, Crystal Ag Ventureland will welcome The Cutest Show on Earth Let's Pretend Farm Time Tour! Kids from the audience have a chance to be the stars in this farm tour! With a quick costume change and some minor instructions, young Fairgoers put on a 30-minute show for all to enjoy. With great music and cute costumes, a wacky tour guide leads the audience leaping time to learn all about agriculture, 4-H and good hygiene.



Sports Zone

Catch BIG-time sport excitement here!
For all you sports fans out there, you’ll be excited to know that the Sports Zone is back! One of the biggest attractions at last year’s Fair, the Sports Zone has something for everyone. Whether you are gearing up to watch your favorite MLB team, NFL team or to cheer on your beloved Bulldog football team, this is the place to be! With huge flat screen TVs, the Dugout Sports Bar has plenty of room to relax and enjoy the game of your choice.

For those interactive sports fans, come out to the Sports Zone and test out your arm in one of the pitching or throwing cages. Can you throw the heat? See if you can still throw that baseball or football as hard as you used to. If that’s not your style, then test your skills at bull riding. See if you have what it takes to stay on the mechanical bull for more than eight seconds. Also, the guys from ESPN will be broadcasting live at the 2010 Big Fresno Fair from the Sports Zone. So, come out, get some food and something to drink, then sit down and listen to them talk about the latest in sports news from their on-grounds set!
