Meet Megan Banda, a Reedley FFA student who is an 11th grader at Reedley Middle College High School:
Megan’s older sister, Lisa, was the one who inspired her and introduced her to FFA. Megan looks up to Lisa immensely and is grateful for the way she showed her the value of the program and how much she could grow to love it. FFA means a lot to Megan because it teaches her essential life skills that will benefit her future in agriculture. Beyond that, it provides a fantastic opportunity to build lifelong connections with people from all over California. Megan knows that her FFA journey is far from over, and she eagerly anticipates continuing her involvement for as long as she can.
This year, Megan decided to show another hog, named Hyna, thanks to her mom’s suggestion. Hyna is a Duroc, and Megan has found her to be very well-behaved. She believes that Hyna will achieve great things at this year's fair. Hyna is muscular, not fat as some might think, and Megan practices with her whenever she can. She is proud of the progress they’ve made together.
